Support local farmers: Eat Out!

December 5th, 2011 Posted in Foods and Dishes, Fresh Foods For All Occasions

Lots of restaurants source directly from farmers or shop at their local farmers market.

We all know there are times when you just want to “eat out”. Maybe it’s a special occasion, or a regular “date-night” with a special someone. Maybe your busy schedule’s left no time for cooking or you’re swamped studying for exams and need to grab some quick, healthy “take-out”. Maybe you just want a change of pace from your own kitchen and crock pot fare!

Now it’s easier than ever to eat out and support local farmers at the same time!

That’s because more area restaurants and chefs are proudly partnering with local farmers to serve up healthy, savory dishes using the freshest, locally grown and produced ingredients possible! And, you can find eateries to accommodate nearly every budget.

Just because a restaurant sources from a local, organic or sustainable family farming operation is no guarantee we’ll love their food, but it’s certainly a good place to begin our search for delicious, fresh and healthy. Also, mentioning an eatery here does not (necessarily) indicate a personal endorsement even though I’ve happily wielded my fork and satisfied my culinary cravings in several of them.

Next time you’re tired of cooking find a restaurant that sources their ingredients locally and: Eat Out!
